Purpose and field of applications

Optical distribution box is used in public communication networks, in controlling communications network and in general communication networks.
Cross provides end-to-end incorporation, connectivity, switching and control of linear and fixed fibre-optic cables.
Designed for installation at communication nodes, distribution points (in the porches of apartment buildings, attics, etc.). Cross is constructed with a lockable lid, which provides convenient distribution of the optical cable and additional protection against unauthorised access. 
Wall-mounted optical cross kit SHKON-U series is intended to be placed in offices, control rooms, communication rooms and other serviced premises.

Конструктивное исполнения кросса соответствует «Правилам применения кроссового оборудования», утвержденными приказом Минсвязи № 52 от 24/04/2006.

Construction and complete kit

Cross is intended for installation directly on the wall. Cross construction provides:

• input, lock and distribute the input cable without reducing its transmission performances;
• anchorage of sentral strength member;
• installation of fibre optics, fiber optic modules and pigtails with a bending radius of at least 30 mm;
• installation of cassettes for placement of splices of fiber optics with pigtails;
• installation of SC type optic sockets (in the kit);
• mechanical protection of internal components and fiber optics.

SHKON-U 8SC/APC cross staffed with 8 ports SC/APC.
Body and lid of the cross are made of sheet steel with paint coating, and the front door is provided with a lock to prevent unauthorized access.

Cross equipped with a protective grounding clamp, grounding mark and lazer hazard mark. Resistance between protective bonding clamp and any other available four touching non-conducting metal part of the cross body is not more than 0.1 Ohm.

Cross design prevents the possibility of accidental injury of personnel working with it without implementation of special safety measures.

Operating conditions

Cross is intended for use in the following climatic conditions:

• ambient temperature between 5 C and 40 C;
• relative humidity at 25 C: up to 80%;
• Decreased atmospheric pressure up to 60 kPa (450 mm Hg).

Cross is persistent to vibration loads on a frequency range from 10 to 80 Hz with acceleration of 20 m/s2 (2g) and displacement amplitude of 0.5 mm.
Duration of servicelife of the cross is at least 20 years. It does not require maintenance for the entire life.
